How to Remove Love Handles

Love handles are those, very hard to remove, areas of fat that bulge from each side of the waist. They affect men and women equally. When they extend all of the way around the waist, a "spare tyre" is formed. The proper anatomical name for these areas is the obliques. The oblique muscle consists of two parts, the inner obliques, and the outer obliques.

Although these exercises will specifically target the "love handle" area, it cannot be stressed too much that the only way to really rid yourself of all the flabbiness here is to lower your overall body fat percentage.

Here are two simple exercises that target these areas:-

Side Bends, Lying

1. Lie on your side, and have your knees together and slightly bent.

2. Place your hands behind your head.

3. Exhaling as you do so, raise your head and shoulders in the direction of your hip.

4. Pause for a moment at the top, inhale, and return to position 2.

5. Do the same number of reps on each side.

Twist Crunches

Do 25 reps of the following exercises:

1. Lie on your back and put your hands behind your head.

2. Bring your left elbow to your right knee by twisting, and at the same time extend your right leg.

3. Do the same movement to the opposite side.
