Tips for Healthy Hair

  • Eat a lot of green leafy vegetables
  • Eat a lot of fruits
  • Eat dairy products
  • Eat sources of protein, such as meat, fish, poultry, milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt and sunflower seeds
  • Eat sources of Vitamin A, such as butter, eggs, milk, carrots, tomatoes and oily fish
  • Eat sources of Vitamin B, such as milk, eggs, wholegrain cereals, bread, nuts, soy beans, poultry, fish and meat
  • Eat sources of Vitamin D, such as fish liver oils, oily fish, milk and eggs
  • Eat sources of Vitamin C, such as green peppers, citrus fruits, bananas, avocados, artichokes and leafy green vegetables
  • Eat sources of Vitamin E, such as peanuts, vegetable oils and green leafy vegetables
  • Eat sources of iron, such as spinach, liver, kidneys, beans, peas and dried fruit
  • Eat sources of Calcium such as cheese, nuts, eggs, milk, yogurt, sardines and root vegetables
  • Eat sources of Iodine, such as seafood, dried kelp and iodized salt
  • Eat sources of sulfur, such as eggs, meat, cheese and other dairy products
  • Eat sources of Biotin, such as nuts, whole grains and vegetables
  • Avoid refined, processed and canned foods

Hair Care:

  • Trim your hair at least ½ inch every four to eight weeks
  • Massage your hair for 5-10 minutes every day
  • Brush your hair regularly
  • Brush with a widely spaced brush or comb with soft tips
  • Avoid plastic hair brushes
  • Avoid hair dryers and curling irons to prevent damage to your hair
  • Avoid wearing your hair too tightly
  • Avoid hair styling products as much as possible
  • Avoid heat and prolonged exposure to sun

Washing Your Hair:

  • Shampoo your hair only two or three times per week
  • Wash your hair with lukewarm water
  • Brush your hair before shampooing
  • Use a shampoo with natural ingredients
  • Massage your scalp to boost blood circulation
  • Deep condition your hair every two weeks
  • Rinse your hair with vinegar to help your hair shine
  • Dry your hair naturally, squeeze the water and use a towel to blot your hair
  • Do not brush your hair until its dry
