Over the past few years, my hubby had been faced with spiritual battles here and there and all started when he was a child. I took it upon myself to spend time and seek the Lord for spiritual guidance on how we can both battle this warfare. You know what the Lord said to me, read 2 Chronicles 20:15 (NIV) – “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s“
So rather than focusing my prayers on constant spiritual binding, or praying for hours upon hours and most times keep repeating the same prayer after running out of words, I decided to focus on very short, simple and sincere prayers the reaches God’s throne. Remember that spiritual warfare is real and that the enemy’s plan right from the first day is to steal, kill and destroy.
Over the next couple of weeks, I pondered on these words and came to realize that truly the battles we face is not ours to fight, but all spiritual warfare we may have faced at some point in our life’s or facing now belongs to God. He already won the battles and given us victory through the death and resurrection of His son Jesus Christ.
I pray that as you pray these prayers, that the Lord God Almighty will come to our rescue and give us victory, In Jesus Name – and the people of God says – Amen.
Spiritual Prayers for your Spouse
Prayer 1 – Isaiah 54:17
Father, I thank You for Your blood that You shed on Calvary for my husband. I pray that You will continuously cover him with Your precious blood. Lord, I bless You that You defeated death so that my husband might have victory over everything that he faces and will ever face in the Name of Jesus. Also I declare and decree that no weapon formed against him shall ever prosper and that he is victorious in Christ Jesus, Amen.
Prayer 2 – Ephesians 6: 11-13, Isaiah 40:31
Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. I thank You for my husband and I commit him into Your mighty hands. I dress him in the full armor of God, so that he might withstand every fiery dart of the adversary and that nothing that is not of You will penetrate him. Lord, I pray that he will stand firm in the Name of Jesus and will never faint but will raise up like an eagle; this is the prayer of my heart, Amen.
Prayer 3 – Philippians 4:13
Father, I thank You that You are an omniscient and omnipresent God. Lord, You know the warfare that my husband faces and I come against it in the Name of Jesus, as it has no power over him. Your Word says that all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us. Therefore, I pray today that You will strengthen him and that he will be delivered from all affliction; this is the prayer of my heart, Amen.
Prayer 4 – 1 Peter 5:7, John 10:10
Oh God, I bless You because Your Word says to cast all of our cares onto You as You care for us. Therefore Lord, it is not Your will for spouse to be killed or destroyed by the warfare that he faces, as You came to allow him to have life more abundantly. So, I bind the plans to steal, kill and destroy him in the Name of Jesus and I pray that You will bless him with abundant life, Amen.
Prayer 5 – 1 Peter 5:7, John 10:10
Heavenly Father, I pray that You will hide him in the secret place of Your tabernacle. I pray that he will dwell under the shelter of your mighty arm, where he shall be safe. Father be a hedge of protection around him so that nothing that is not of You will come near his dwelling place. I also ask that You protect him from the snare of the fowler; this is the prayer of my heart, Amen.
Spiritual Warfare Prayers
Prayer 6 – James 4:7, James 5:16
Father, I have confidence that You answer my prayers as the fervent prayer of the righteous avails much. My husband belongs to You and You have the final say in every situation. I submit him into Your hands, so that he is able to resist the plans of the enemy upon his life. As he dwells in Your hands, I pray that You will cover him from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet; this I ask, Amen.
Prayer 7 – John 14: 13-14, 2 Corinthians 10: 4-5
Heavenly Father, I thank You that I can ask anything in Your Name and it will be done. Therefore, today I ask in the Name of Jesus that You will deliver my husband from all spiritual warfare. I cast down every stronghold and through Your divine Holy Spirit, I bring every negative thought of my husband into captivity to the obedience of Christ. So, Lord I declare and decree that no power of the evil one will reside within him, In Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Prayer 8 – Zechariah 4:6, Luke 10:19
Oh God, I thank You today for Your unconditional love towards my husband. I pray that you will strengthen him and that he will walk not by his power but by Your Spirit. As You strengthen him Lord, may he walk in the God given authority that You have girded him with, that he may tread on all serpents, scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. I declare that nothing shall by any means hurt him, Amen.
Prayer 9 – 1 Corinthians 10:13
Dear Lord, You are a faithful God and I am thankful for Your faithfulness towards us. I thank You that for every situation my spouse will ever go through, You have already provided a way of escape. So, I pray this day that You will remind him of Your faithfulness towards him and that You will never allow him to go through more than he can bear. Let Your Spirit remain forever with him, Amen.
Prayer 10 – 1 Corinthians 15:57, Romans 8:37, 1 John 4:4
Father, I bless Your Name today as You are worthy of all praise and glory. I thank You that the battle is not for him and that victory belongs to You.
